Fiona O'Riordan |
Rosscarbery English School is owned and run by Fiona O’Riordan. Fiona graduated from University College Cork with a BA in English and Geography and HDip in Education. She has worked in main-stream education for over 12 years. |
At the same time, Fiona co-ordinated education courses for both Adult Literacy groups and children with learning difficulties. She also developed an After-School Homework Scheme for children from disadvantaged areas in Cork city, which is still operating successfully to this day.
Fiona is also a qualified TEFL teacher, and has worked in Ireland and abroad in this area. In the year 2000 she established Rosscarbery English School, which provides English tuition to foreign students. Since then the school has grown from strength to strength, and today provides English courses and activity packages for business people, teenagers and adults preparing for exams, and family groups.
As a mother of three children, Fiona believes that learning holidays are one of the best ways of introducing people to the English language and improving their existing language skills. She has developed her courses around what she would want for her own family when abroad – interesting and enjoyable lessons in a safe relaxed environment.
Teachers at Rosscarbery English School are University graduates and qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL). They all have experience teaching English to foreign students, and approach their classes with a desire to create a productive and enjoyable learning experience, at a pace which suits each student.
